1.Residential/ Drop-in Center

The residential/Drop-in center of SFODA provides safe and comfortable accommodation for the children-target group. The Residential/drop-in center of SFODA (and the Head Office) is located on the Mekong riverside of Phnom Penh about 5km from the Central point of the city, no other center is nearby, which provides children with a safe family-like living atmosphere for calmness and recovery.  SFODA works in close collaboration with relevant government ministries, local authorities, NGO partners and networks, development partners, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure quality services for children and youth-target groups that help them physically and emotionally develop themselves with safety and happiness.

2.Outreach Team

SFODA Outreach team works in collaboration with local authorities and relevant stakeholders to identify children and youth at high risk and children/youth -victims and encourages them to take safe shelter at SFODA and help them to prepare their life plans for a better future. The outreach team also works closely with the families and community members of the children and youth – target group, to raise awareness of child rights including child abuse (physical, sexual, and emotional), human trafficking, child exploitation (physical and sexual), and legal consequences. These outreach activities not only raise awareness of child-centered issues but also build the capacity of their families and their community members to be sensitized and able to prevent/protect children and youth to be safe from any kind of abuse and risky behavior. This group of social workers is well trained to effectively work with children and the youth-target group

3.Education/vocational training

The education/Vocational training team works in collaboration with NGO partners, relevant government ministries, and public and private schools to refer younger children to appropriate classes and the older ones to vocational training courses or apprenticeships if they prefer. These team members also work with the children who stay in the residential/drop-in center providing them with non-formal education during their free time (as in Cambodia, children go to public school only one shift a day either morning or afternoon), helping to complete their homework, carrying out cultural and recreational activities including basic English classes, dancing, drawing/painting pictures, sports and outdoor activities. This team works with volunteers from different countries to conduct various extra-curricular activities for children so that they learn different life skills and prepare themselves to be successfully socialized. The Education/Vocational training team members also contact various NGO partners and private companies to accept older children and youth for vocational training skills or apprenticeships.
